MINI’s new five-door hatch was spied during cold weather testing this week.
The car will slot above its three-door sibling and below the five-doro Countryman crossover in MINI’s model lineup. Powertrain options for the Cooper and Cooper S versions are expected to carry over from the the three-door version meaning the less expensive version will likely use a turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 134 hp while the Cooper S model will use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four making 189 hp.
A fifth door is easily visible through the camouflage. MINI is expected to debut the car during the Geneva Motor Show early next month when the important details will become clear.
